The main objective of the DECO-E project is to research and develop paper-based packaging that maintains the strict barrier properties and sealability required for frozen products, without compromising food safety.

Structure Optimisation: We have designed new structures comprising sequential layers of innovative coatings that minimise material usage whilst maintaining maximum functionality.
Industrial Scalability: The viability of large-scale production without any loss of performance in current production processes has been demonstrated.
Full Compatibility: The new materials have been successfully validated on conventional vertical packaging equipment, ensuring a smooth transition for the food industry.
